Therapy Groups Maryland
Self-Esteem for Stronger Teens
The Glow-up Girls Self-Esteem for Stronger Teens Group use CBT, DBT, and ACT-based activities to build emotional awareness, coping skills, positive self-talk, understanding personal values, building confident communication, resilience, and healthy relationships. Participants complete a brief screening prior to joining, receive handouts, and homework each week, and engage in discussions, mindfulness, art-based activities, and goal-setting. Each session ends with reflection, celebration, and guidance on applying skills outside of group.
Group Leaders: Angela Donahue, LGPC and Patsy Zetkulic, LCPC are professional, licensed counselors providing therapeutic services at Dagenhart Health and Wellness.

Group Therapy in Maryland
Connection. Growth. Shared Healing.
Healing doesn’t have to happen alone.
Group therapy offers a powerful opportunity to grow alongside others who are facing similar challenges. While individual therapy provides focused one-on-one support, group therapy creates space to practice new skills, gain perspective, and experience meaningful connection in real time.
At Dagenhart Health and Wellness, our groups are thoughtfully structured, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, and practical skill-building interventions. Each group is led by a licensed therapist and intentionally designed to create a safe, collaborative environment where clients can deepen self-awareness, build resilience, and experience meaningful growth.
Why Group Therapy Works
Many people feel unsure about joining a therapy group at first. That hesitation is normal. In practice, most members quickly discover that group therapy can be one of the most validating and transformative experiences in mental health care.
Group therapy helps because it provides:
Shared Experience
Hearing someone else express thoughts or feelings you’ve carried privately can reduce shame and isolation. You begin to realize you are not alone.
Real-Time Skill Practice
Whether working on anxiety, emotional regulation, communication, or boundaries, group therapy allows you to practice new behaviors in a supportive environment with immediate feedback.
Perspective and Accountability
Growth doesn’t come only from the therapist. It emerges through shared insight, encouragement, and gentle challenge from other members.
Relational Healing
Many struggles with anxiety, depression, or trauma are shaped by past relationships. Group therapy offers a corrective experience — one grounded in respect, empathy, and healthy boundaries.
Who Benefits from Group Therapy?
Group therapy can support adults navigating:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Depression and low motivation
Social anxiety
Burnout and feeling overwhelmed
Life transitions
Relationship challenges
Emotional regulation difficulties
Some clients participate in both individual and group therapy. Others find that group therapy alone meets their needs. If you’re unsure, we can discuss what would be the best fit during a consultation.
What to Expect
Groups typically meet weekly for a set duration (such as 8–12 weeks), though some may be ongoing. Sessions may include:
Brief check-ins
Psychoeducation or skill-building
Guided discussion
Experiential exercises
Reflection and action steps
You are never required to share more than you’re ready to. Participation is encouraged, but personal boundaries are respected. Confidentiality is emphasized to help create a safe and trusting space.
Taking the Next Step
It takes courage to show up authentically in a group setting. But that courage often leads to meaningful change — increased confidence, reduced shame, improved communication, and a stronger sense of connection.
If you’re feeling stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed, group therapy may offer a structured and supportive path forward.
At Dagenhart Health, our goal is not just symptom relief — it’s helping you build a life that feels purposeful and sustainable.
