A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) holds a masters or doctoral degree in nursing and is board certified in Psychiatry. PMHNP stands for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. PMHNPs can assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders from various evidenced-based models and interventions. Although PMHNPs are trained in individual and family psychotherapy, the providers at Dagenhart Health And Wellness focus and specialize in psychotropic medication management.

A Professional Counselor (LCPC) holds a masters or doctoral degree in counseling, mental health, and/or psychology. They can provide counseling and psychotherapy in various mental health areas. LCPC stands for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. LCPC’s work with a variety of diagnosis depending on their experience. Some LCPC’s hold certifications specializing in particular fields such as eating disorders, trauma, or substance abuse. Many hold certifications specializing in specific treatment modalities, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensititzation and Reprocessing), CGT (Certified Gottman Therapy), and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
